The dream of a visionary "The Scindia School", dominates the city of Gwalior from its hill fortress for more than a century. Founded by late Maharaja Madhav Rao Jayaji Rao Scindia of Gwalior in 1897, the school has acquired laurels and has gained reputation. Enjoying an all India status it draws boys from various parts of the country from different walks of life. This all residential school for boys with a total strength of approximately 630 students offers twelve houses, four for junior and eight for the senior boys.

Once the barracks of the proud British soilders the dormitories today are housed in double-stories. The high roofed imposing buildings are commodious and comfortable with adequate ventilation. Equipped with all necessary items of indoor games and gadgets of entertainment the houses provide a sense of belonging towards its residents. The four Houses for the junior boys are guided by Housemistresses, matrons and other domestic staff. The senior houses are mentored by Housemasters and a resident tutor along with the necessary domestic staff.
