The
papermaking department is one of the
most prominent hobbies of our school.
The hobby has around 20 students.
The process of making paper is very simple. Waste paper, cloth or
blades of grass are torn into shreds and are thrown into a machine called 'Beater'
which contains water. In this machine the waste paper, cloth or grass is grounded
into pulp and then taken and flattened out on a wire mesh there by straining
out the water and leaving behind the pulp. The pulp is then taken onto a cloth,
dried and then smoothened in a machine containing two rollers called 'Calendar
Machine'. Thus your paper is ready.
Our department also makes models on plywood out of pulp mud by free hand. These
models vary in all shapes and sizes. We also make pots which have got designs
on it which are made by using pulp mud. These are then painted in oil paints
which is used as a base coating on which it is decorated be giving it a fine
texture using a suitable dry colour which gives it the attractive shine.
Our department also puts all the work for display on the Founder's Day. Our work
has been well appreciated by the guests and we hope for the same in the coming
years.
