Wood
work and wood sculpting has a small
but dedicated band of enthusiasts in
the school. The school produces all
the materials required from the wood
to the carving tools like gouges a,
saws, chisels and mallets. They are
taught to use abrasives and finishes
correctly. The wooden sculptures made
by the students range from just a few
inches to as much as a few feet in height.
The expertise of the students is testimony
to the fact that traditional hobbies
can not only co-exist but also thrive
beside more modern and technological
pastimes. |
