The society was started in the year 1998 under the able guidance of Mr. S.G.Chatterji HOD History. For a more organized effort the society has started appointing house representatives from each of the remaining seven houses. Mrs. Vinita Pandey is an integral part of the society. The society organizes debates quizzes, declamations, painting contests, cartoon competitions, essay writing, story writing, poetry writing etc. the idea behind all this is to generate interest among Scindians regarding history of India and World. The society is aimed at Promoting students to learn about their history and culture.
Every year during the month of April the society organizes 'Abhimanyu Week' in which students of class VI to XII participate. They are divided into junior and senior groups to create wider circle of interest in history. The society also gives book prizes.
The prizes are initiated by Mr. Sandeep Dutt, Proprietor, English Book Depot, Dehradun in the name of his beloved father Mr. Dev Dutt in the year 1998.
