An Institution Within An Institution.
A temple which has molded the characters of numerous individuals. To a layman the Jayaji House may be just another one of the eight houses but those who have passed through the hallowed portals of this house know the truth. Immature boys enter the sanctity of this temple only to come out as mature, confident young men each reveling in his own individuality but bearing that distinctive Jayajian trait which makes him stand out in the crowd, the thirst for human excellence.
A Jayajian is aware of his responsibilities to the House, School, Nation and Humanity. The friendship formed lasts till the deathbed. The House teaches us to strive to be the best. The trials and tribulations, despair, hope, pain, joy - these emotions thus strengthen one's character.
The House brings out the the potential in us, brings out our best which sometimes even surprises ourselves. The House teaches us the difference between defeat and victory and the importance of taking both in our stride. But, it doesn't teach us to be good losers, because good losers get into the habit of losing. It teaches us to analyze ourselves and to be self critical after a defeat and to improve upon our mistakes. Above all the house teaches us to never give up because even fate bows before a Jayajian.
Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high,
Where knowledge is free,
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls,
Where words come out from the depth of truth,
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection,
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit,
Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever widening thought and action,
Into that heaven of freedom, my father, let my country awake.
