beyond academic excellence to personal development,

through service, challenge and adventure.
Kurt Hahn's philosophy and belief in others
and in one self is keenly followed through
various activities in the School. Senior

meet annually at a regional and international
conference hosted by a member school. There
are also opportunities for younger students
to participate in Junior and Young Round
Square Conference aimed specifically at
their own age group.
International
Service:
Students participate in Round Square international
service projects in a developing world for
not so lucky people. Current projects running
through Round Square are in Kenya and India.
They may also take part in expeditions organized

Round Square Project: Ladakh:
All the team is now in Delhi, and the team have enjoyed dinner together for the first time! The leaders have told me that they are all making friends very quickly and are all looking forward to spending the next weeks together. They are hopefully going to sleep early as they have to get up again at 0330 to go off to the airport to catch their flight up to Leh tomorrow! With very best wishes.

Another little update for you - the team are in Leh (getting used to the altitude!) and are having a great time. While they were in Delhi, some of them went to visit the Sikh Temple and ended up making lots of chappatis for gurudwara. In these temples, the people come with food donations, and volunteer to make food for any that need it. A beautiful, small piece of humanitarian work that is a pleasure for anyone to be a part of. The team flew up to Leh, and were in cloud right up until the descent where they came out of the cloud and saw Leh for the first time. Breathtaking! It's 15 degrees C there, which is welcomed by all after the stifling heat of Delhi! They are now heading off to Thiksey and it's not likely there will be any email before 30th July, unless the Monks at the monastery have installed the internet!
With best wishes,
Liz Gray
