The Scindia School Honours Two Enduring Legacies

The Scindia School witnessed a memorable day on 13th July, 2026, as students, alumni, faculty, and members of the Scindia Old Boys' Association (SOBA) gathered to celebrate two enduring legacies that have shaped the institution's rich heritage. The morning assembly commenced with a formal welcome by Principal Mr Ajay Singh, followed by an introduction by Mr Mitul Dikshit, President of SOBA. Addressing the gathering, Mr M. S. Bedi, a revered former master who served The Scindia School for 18 years and was Housemaster of Ranji House, reflected on his years at the School and the values that continue to define the Scindia spirit. The assembly also paid tribute to the late Mr Rajnish Rai Kumar, with Mr Rahul Kulshreshtha, former SOBA President, remembering his life and contribution to the Scindia fraternity. Mrs Rasika Kumar addressed the gathering before the Rajnish Rai Kumar Memorial Scholarship was presented to Dev Mittal by the Rajnish Rai Kumar family, recognising academic promise and carrying forward Mr Kumar's commitment to education. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr Banjul Badil, Immediate Past President of SOBA.
In the evening, the celebrations continued at the Madhav Pavilion with a nostalgic panel discussion featuring Mr M. S. Bedi, Mr G. S. Bakshi, Mr Anil Atal, Mr Pratap Singh, Mr Shashi Bhushan, and Mr Sanjay Singh. Former students of Mr Bedi shared heartfelt memories of his mentorship, recalling how his discipline, encouragement, and unwavering belief in his students had left a lasting impact on their lives. The discussion also revisited memorable footballing moments from the 1980s and 1990s, celebrating the camaraderie and sporting traditions that have long been an integral part of the School's culture.
The day culminated in the inaugural M. S. Bedi Football Trophy, instituted by Mr Bedi's former students to honour his remarkable contribution to The Scindia School. The trophy will henceforth be awarded to the winners of the annual football match between the Scindia Old Boys and the present students, symbolising the enduring bond between generations of Scindians. More than a sporting contest, the match stood as a celebration of mentorship, tradition, and the lifelong connection that continues to unite the Scindia fraternity.
