The 8th edition of Scindia Model United Nations 2026 (SCIMUN’26), hosted at The Scindia School, successfully concluded after four days of intensive debate, diplomacy, and cultural exchange, bringing together over 350 delegates from 25 schools across India.
The conference commenced on April 10 with registrations and an introductory committee session, alongside a visit to the Fort Biosphere, offering delegates a glimpse into sustainability initiatives on campus.
The highlight of the conference was the Opening Ceremony held on April 11, graced by H.E. Kimmo Lahdevirta, Ambassador of Finland to India, and Mr. Darrin Farrant, UNIC Director for India and Bhutan. In their addresses, the dignitaries emphasized the importance of global cooperation, diplomacy, and the role of youth in addressing contemporary international challenges.
Over the course of the conference, delegates engaged in multiple committee sessions, debating pressing global issues, negotiating solutions, and drafting resolutions. Cultural elements such as the band display, Harmony Night, and social events complemented the academic rigor of the sessions.
A standout feature of SCIMUN’26 was the surprise midnight crisis simulation, where delegates were presented with a high-pressure, real-time global scenario. Participants demonstrated exceptional adaptability, critical thinking, and teamwork while responding to rapidly evolving situations, closely mirroring real-world diplomatic crises.
The conference also included a visit to the Jai Vilas Palace, a cultural performance, and the SCIMUN banquet, fostering interaction and collaboration among participants.
The event concluded on April 13 with the Closing Ceremony, graced by Ambassador Raj Kumar Srivastava, Dean, SSIFS, where outstanding delegates were recognized for their performance.
