Grade 8 Jim Corbett Sustainability Camp

The five-day camp near the Jim Corbett National Park offered Grade 8 students a rich blend of environmental learning, adventure, and community engagement. The experience began with bird watching, nature walks, and village service in Kyari, where students cleaned the local school and created sustainability-themed wall art. They also participated in environmental awareness sessions and team-building activities.
Subsequent days focused on responsible living and experiential learning through waste management workshops, litter-picking drives, adventure activities such as rope courses, ziplining, cycling, and water sports, as well as creative sustainability reflections. Students interacted with villagers to understand the impact of development on rural life and ecology.
The group also visited Nainital, enjoying a ropeway ride with panoramic views of Naini Lake and exploring the Eco Cave Gardens while learning about geography and environmental conservation. The camp concluded with a jungle safari in Jim Corbett National Park and a meaningful “Earn Your Lunch” activity in a nearby village, where students assisted with daily chores and experienced the dignity of labour.
Overall, the camp successfully combined adventure, sustainability education, community service, and reflective learning, making it a memorable and transformative experience for the students.
