One Crore Cloth Bags – A Step Towards a Greener Future
08 October 2025
The Community Service Group of The Scindia School has embarked on a meaningful initiative — Project Plastic Free Gwalior — to encourage sustainable living and reduce plastic waste. We plan to distribute one crore cloth bags!
As part of this campaign, students are collecting used clothes from the school community and upcycling them into durable cloth bags. This creative endeavour not only breathes new life into old garments but also serves as a practical solution to the growing problem of single-use plastic. Apart from this, several individuals and organisations have partnered with us in contributing cloth bags for this green endeavor.
These reusable cloth bags will be placed at the school security gate and at strategic locations across the Fort, making them easily accessible for anyone who needs them. By encouraging the community to choose cloth over plastic, the project aims to build long-term eco-friendly habits within and beyond the campus.
Through this initiative, students are gaining hands-on experience in sustainability, teamwork, and community service. More importantly, they are taking ownership of their role in creating a cleaner, greener Gwalior.
