The staff and students of the Scindia School witnessed a cultural delight on Tuesday, the 7th of August 2018. Under the aegis of SPIC MACAY, a troupe of dancers specialized in the Kalbelia form of folk dance entralled the audience with their performance. It was truly a pleasure to observe how the Kalbelias – a community of snake charmers, have creatively adapted to the changing socio-economic conditions of the rural Rajasthani society. The dance which is an integral part of the Kalbelia culture, is performed to celebrate any joyful moment in the community. The skillful performers kept the audience in awe throughout the programme, which ended with a well deserving standing ovation. Vice Principal, Academics – Dr Chitra Singh Bankawat extended a vote of thanks to the artists for leading the gathering towards a rendezvous with the vibrant Indian culture and felicitated them.
