On 5th and 6th of September, the Scindian community on the Fort celebrated the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi. On 5th, Ganpati sthapana started off with the Shloka, Vakratunda Mahakaya which was followed by a few devotional songs by the students. Sthapana was followed by a Prasad distribution. On 6th evening at 4.30 pm, entire Fort community assembled in the quadrangle for the aarti before visarjan. After the aarti, some boys enthusiastically placed the idol of Lord Ganesha on their shoulders while the rest danced on their way to Surajkund. Visarjan took place in the surajkund with boys repeatedly shouting the slogan, ‘Ganpati Bappa Moriya, Agle Baras Tu Jaldi Aa’.
