While majority of the boys enjoyed the luxury of spending time with their parents at home some brave hearts decided to brace the cold and harsh weather as they traced the path high up in the mountains. 16 students including a girl and three teachers went on a mountaineering expedition from 10th May to 25 th May2014 to Draupadi ka Danda which is at a height of 18, 700 feet. This expedition was undertaken by the Scindians under the aegis of Nehru Institute of Mountaineering. After a rigorous training the students and teachers faced the rough weather, soft snow and tough terrain. It was a proud moment for four students who managed to reach 17, 900 feet. The entire expedition was an experience in itself and everyone returned to the comfort of their homes with a high degree of satisfaction. In another adventure activity Mr. Abhijeet Biswas and three students went to Spiti as part of a Social Service Project. There were in Spiti from 6th June to 22nd June 2014. The boys worked diligently in collaboration with children from four other schools in extremely harsh weather conditions at a high altitude. As the mercury dipped to -1 Celsius the boys and completed major portion of the job of making a solar bath for the monks. They worked in a village which is situated at Asia's highest point that is connected by road. They even went for a trek and covered a height of 5,000 meters. In all it was a tough task and the boys proved to be true Scindians.
