Farewell to class of 2015

The Valedictory Assembly for the outgoing Batch of 2015 was held on 9th March 2015 at SMOAT at 7 pm. This year the announcement of the new body of Prefects for the trial period till 20 April 2015 was made on this occasion. Principal put this in perspective with the spirit of the valedictory assembly. The Principal, Mr Samik Ghosh spoke glowingly about the Batch of 2015 highlighting their achievements and the spirit they showed when the school met with certain challenges. He motivated the boys to always strive to make a difference by being righteous in their actions and dignified in their ways. The Senior School Prefect, Utsav Mehra began his Valedictory Speech by mentioning how the Fort had been his official address for the past five years and how strange one feels to suddenly realise that it won't be so very soon. In an emotional and humorous speech peppered with personal anecdotes Utsav spoke about each of his batch mates. He recounted their journey from young and confused beginners to confident and self-assured men ready to face the world outside the 110 acres. He left a very strong message for the school community. At the end the school band played a few tunes to suit the mood of the occasion - 'Chalte chalte mere yeh geet', 'He's a jolly good fellow' and 'Old Lang Syne' . Finally the batch of 2015 walked out of the SMOAT with lighted candles and carried them to the Principal's residence where the Principal's wife Mrs. Anuttama Ghosh and the Principal hosted a dinner for them and the staff who had associations with the batch. The students were given a memento each. Some of them spoke a few words of gratitude or sang a song. The evening ended with the boys spending some beautiful moments clicking pictures with their teachers and friends, reliving their memories and seeking blessings of their mentors. The boys left with dreams in their hearts as they promised to bring glory to the school once they leave the school portals.
