The Assembly Hall was filled with excitement on 7th August 2025 on the Fresher’s Evening. The celebration brought out new talent in music, drama, poetry, and dance — a perfect welcome for the newest members of the school community. Divyam Chawla and Vagmi Pathania elicited chuckles with their compering full of one-liners.
The programme opened with a Choir Presentation, setting a harmonious tone for the evening. This was followed by a Hindi drama, which drew laughter and applause with its engaging performances. The spotlight then turned to the stage for a piano solo by Hriday Khajuria, whose dexterous performance enchanted the audience. The new faculty members also contributed to the display of talent.
A devotional moment followed as Ms Sagarika Pradhan offered a heartfelt song dedicated to Lord Jagannath. The mood then shifted to a nostalgic melody when Sauhardya captivated everyone with Aa Chal Ke Tujhe.
The theatrical highlight of the evening was the English play The Last Lesson, which transported the audience into a poignant historical narrative. The rhythm of the night continued with a solo tabla performance by Pragnyanraj Prabhu, followed by a graceful piano solo by Avi Garg and an inspiring talk by Mr Sanjay Chaudhary.
Poetry returned to the stage with moving verses from Ms Mahima Nanda, and a heartfelt poem recital by Pragnyanraj, who read the poem written by his grandfather when he was an old boy in the school. Another musical delight came from Atharv Tripathi, whose piano solo added to the melodic richness of the evening.
A special teacher’s segment brought smiles and connection, followed by a vibrant group dance that filled the hall with colour and energy.
The event concluded with a speech from the Principal, who praised the evening as “a great canvas of performance” and “an amalgamation of curated creations” that made the celebration truly enjoyable. Addressing the freshers, the Principal warmly said, “This school has produced gems, and you too are the future jewels who will shine in the years to come.”
With its extraordinary blend of performances, Fresher’s Day 2025 left behind memories and a glimpse into the talent of new Scindians.
