Paper Nest Workshop

We were honoured to host a truly enriching Paper Nest Workshop on our campus, led by Ms. Ruma Choudhury from Shantiniketan. An expert in traditional Indian papermaking and eco-friendly art forms, she introduced the students to the beauty of sustainable creativity. The workshop centered on sustainable papermaking techniques using rice straw and sugarcane bagasse. Participants explored how to craft paper of different thicknesses, apply natural dyes derived from onion peels and amla, and imprint motifs onto wet sheets—blending eco-conscious practices with artistic expression. Through hands-on sessions, students explored the process of crafting paper from natural materials transforming art into a reflection of mindful living and environmental consciousness. The workshop was not just a lesson in technique, but a journey into the values of sustainability, patience, and artistic expression. Experiences like these truly echo our belief that education must go beyond textbooks nurturing creativity, responsibility, and awareness in equal measure.
