Training Session on MUN, Skill Building, and Research
28 July 2025
A special two-day training session was organized on July 21–22 for students of Grades 6 to 8. The session was conducted by renowned academician, UN awardee, and G20 speaker Mr. Rahul Menon. The objective of the workshop was to develop global awareness, introduce students to the structure of research and analysis, and prepare them for participation in Model United Nations (MUN) simulations.
On the first day, students were trained in crafting impactful speeches, understanding the art of argumentation and counter-argumentation, and most importantly, grasping the fundamentals of how to participate in an MUN. The session helped enhance their confidence, public speaking skills, and ability to critically engage with global issues.
On July 22, a Mock MUN was conducted, during which students were divided into two separate rooms. Eighth graders discussed climate change and its global impact, while sixth graders keenly explored the impact of social media. The activity not only developed their analytical thinking but also emphasized collaboration and structured dialogue.
In total, around 177 students received training through this enriching experience. The entire event was coordinated by Dr. Ruchira G. Chawla, whose leadership played a key role in the success of the program.
The school’s Principal, Mr. Ajay Singh, supported the initiative wholeheartedly, stating, “Such sessions lay the foundation for intellectualism and global citizenship.” Mr. Dhirendra Sharma, the Dean of Co-curricular Activities, also believed in the cause and extended his full support.
This training session marked a significant step in The Scindia School’s continued efforts to empower students with skills that go beyond the classroom, promoting critical thinking, awareness, and leadership among young minds.
