Suicide Prevention Week

The school observed Suicide Prevention Week from 10th to 16th September, focusing on mental well-being, self-worth, resilience, and healthy habits without using the word ‘suicide.’ Activities included workshops, interactive exercises, and mindfulness practices at Astachal, along with meditation sessions by Ms. Pratiksha Chhetri.
Ms. Jaya Sahdev conducted a “Pursuit of Happiness” workshop, explaining the science of happiness and practical strategies like gratitude, mindfulness, exercise, and social connections. She also led an exam stress management class for Class 6 students, offering tools such as time management, positive self-talk, and relaxation techniques.
The “I Matter Because” activity encouraged students and teachers to publicly share positive affirmations, fostering self-worth and belonging.
Finally, Class 8 students engaged in an activity linking physical health to mental well-being, preparing presentations and creative charts promoting balanced diet, exercise, hydration, and mindfulness as key to happiness.
