Scindians Participate in 13th Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon

Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon is the biggest race in the country, amongst the best organized and has huge participation and enthusiastic crowd. It’s a race that every distance runner likes to prepare for and give it his/her best. It includes Marathon, Half-Marathon and the Dream Run (6 km). Selected students along with three teacher escorts from The Scindia School went for 13th Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon 2016 that took place on 17th January 2016. Nine students tried their best on the winding and at times, up and down Mumbai roads from Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus to Bandra via the Rajiv Gandhi Sea Link. Eleven band boys played tunes to encourage the enthusiastic Scindians.

The preparation began well in advance at Gwalior and the boys got into the spirit of the race upon reaching Mumbai. The presence of the Principal, Dr Madhav Deo Saraswat, Mr GS Bakshi, Director- Alumni Relationship and Mr Mahesh Gandhi along with some Old Boys motivated the Scindians. A day before the event saw everyone preparing their strategies to participate in the race with full zeal and zest. It was fantastic to meet the other participants and feel their vibrant energy.

All the boys and the teachers expressed their happiness after participating in Mumbai Marathon. SCMM, the race, has delivered in all that they expected out of it. Every Scindian realized that the performance was respectable considering the training period.
