Mr Kalyan Mohan Banerji

Kalyan Mohan Banerjee is one among the list of illustrious Scindians. Passed out in 1959 and subsequently graduated as a Chemical Engineer from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.

Academic excellence, professionalism and a Scindian commitment to one’s task has earned him the responsibility of Director of United Phosphorous Ltd., one of the largest manufacturers of Agrochemicals in India. He is also Chairman of United Phosphorous Bangladesh Ltd.
Professional excellence apart a true Scindian also believes in ‘Service Before Self’. Kalyan Mohan Banerjee has truly imbibed this Scindian ethos. He has been a member of the Rotary Club of Vapi since 1972. The District Governor during 1980-81, he has also been Rotary International President’s representative of District Conferences in India and abroad. Having served as Rotary International’s Director for various zones between1995-97, he was also General Co-ordinator of Poverty and Hunger alleviation task force in 1997-98. Polio eradication in India has also been his field of work since 2000.
Currently he is a member of the Brisbane Convention Promotion Committee, Vice Chairman of World Affairs Committee, Trustee on the Rotary Foundation Board from 2001-2005. He is also the recipient of the Citation for Meritorious and Distinguished Service Award from the Rotary Foundation for which he is a major donor and benefactor.
Kalyan Mohan Banerjee through his professionalism, talent and resources has encouraged high ethical standards and helped build goodwill and peace through humanitarian, educational and cultural programmes at local, national and international level. Kalyan Mohan Banerjee has distinguished himself as a Global Scindian. For his stellar work in his chosen field, the Scindia School confers on him the Madhav Award as an Old Boy of Eminence for the year 2003.
